Support
A supervised person may appear before the Mental Impairment Review Tribunal (Tribunal), pursuant to section 165 of the Criminal Law (Mental Impairment) Act 2023 (WA) (the Act), unless the Tribunal considers that it is not safe or practicable for the person to do so.
The President of the Tribunal may order that a person’s appearance before the Tribunal be by means of audio or video link, or any other means of immediate communication.
Support is available to a supervised person appearing before the Tribunal from representatives, Communication partners, or legal practitioners. Submissions can also be made on behalf of the supervised person appearing before the Tribunal by a close family member or carer.
Requests for appearances before the Tribunal can be made by emailing mirt@justice.wa.gov.au
Legal Advice: The Tribunal is unable to provide any legal advice. Legal matters should be addressed with a supervised person's legal counsel.
